Tanzanite Ganesha
Hand-carved from natural tanzanite, 38.90 carats
A Ganesha carved as a face — the mukh form, in which the deity is rendered from the crown down to the curled trunk, with the fanned ears framing the whole. The carving is dense with detail at this scale: a fluted crown, an incised tilak between the eyes, concentric ringed eyes, and the trunk ridged along its full length before curling upward at the tip.
Tanzanite is pleochroic, meaning it shows different colours along different crystal axes. Turned in the hand, this piece moves between deep indigo, violet, and a cooler slate blue — the stone's defining quality, and the reason it is cut and carved with the finished orientation decided at the rough stage. Carved by hand at our family atelier in Jaipur.
